New: Apple & Google Wallet Nearby Notifications

We’re excited to launch a new wallet feature that makes it even easier for your customers to use their loyalty pass.
When one of your customers is near one of your locations, their pass can appear directly on the iPhone lock screen, and Google Wallet can send a nearby notification that opens the pass with one tap. This makes the pass faster to access and ready to scan in seconds.
That means your customers do not have to search for their pass upon arrival. It is there when they need it and serves as a helpful reminder that they are near your business.
Why this matters
The main benefit is simple: less friction at the moment of visit. Apple Wallet is designed to show relevant passes based on location, and Google Wallet’s Nearby Notifications remind users when they have a saved pass for a nearby business.
For your customers, that means:
They do not have to find their pass manually; it's on their lock screen.
Their pass is easier to access when they are near your business.
A quick look at their phone can remind them to visit, scan, and engage with your program.
What you need to do
To make sure this works properly, please check the address for every location for your program in the meed portal.
In the View/Edit Program page, scroll down to the location panel and make sure:
The full address is entered on one line.
The correct country is selected in the dropdown.
The address is typed correctly and succeeds when searched on Google Maps.
If your address is entered correctly and Google Maps can find it properly, it should work fine.
Important note about Apple & Google Wallet Notifications
Many of you are members of your own program, so you may see your own pass appear when you are near your business.
If you want to turn this off for your own pass on iPhone, open Wallet, or double-tap the right-side button, open the pass, tap the three dots, view the back of the pass, and disable the location-based setting for that pass.
