Receipt SCAN is meed’s spend-based rewards feature, where your customers scan their own receipts and meed awards them stamps based on a dollar value per stamp that you set.
You can find out how to set up SCAN in our tutorial: "How to Set Up SCAN by meed".
The whole process is quite intuitive, but it’s useful to know the built-in guardrails that protect you from fraud.
Below are the core requirements for a receipt to pass and stamps to be rewarded.
Date and Time Protections
There are several date-and-time protections for Receipt SCAN by meed.
The receipt can be no older than seven days
The receipt cannot have been issued before the customer joined the program
The receipt cannot be older than the current stamp card if it has been edited or updated
The receipt date cannot be in the future
Detail Checking
We check many details in the receipt, including (but not limited to):
Damage or unclear text
Incomplete picture - we cannot see the whole receipt
The receipt has already been used
The name of the business, specifically the location
The address on the receipt matches precisely what is entered in the portal
Note that we do not check whether you are a member, because when you scan the QR code, which triggers SCAN, you will be able to enrol as a member and then claim your first stamps.
General Rule of Thumb for Receipt SCAN by meed
If the receipt is fresh, genuine and recent, it should work.
If scanning receipts is how you want to run your loyalty program, set up your stamp card right now. You will be live in minutes.
