SCAN by meed is one of our most exciting features. While it will work for anyone, it is especially designed for restaurants or other establishments that require a single bill at the end of service.
Customers scan a QR code, which can either be on the receipt or on the table. Our web app captures the receipt data and automatically rewards the customer based on a per-stamped value that you set. If they are not a member yet, they are enrolled on your loyalty program in the same setup.
How to Set Up SCAN by meed
In this example, we are setting up SCAN for our coffee shop group, Waypoint Coffee, which has three branches across three countries: Brooklyn, USA; Hong Kong; and Bangkok, Thailand. This helps us show that you can set the spend required for a stamp individually to each branch/location - both the amount and the currency.
If you have not set up your loyalty program on meed, you can read this tutorial on how to do so.

Navigate to the overview page. If just logging in, this is where you will be; otherwise, click "Overview" in the left-hand menu.
Look at the right-hand column at the top, "Quick Actions".
Click the "Scan" button. The Scan setup window will appear.

In the example, my demo program has three locations in three different countries. The system will set the currency for each location to the appropriate choice for the country you chose when you created it.
I can now set a customised spend per stamp for each location, and then print a QR code for each location individually.
I am going to say that spending US$10 generates a stamp, and I want to print a QR code for my New York coffee shop, Pierhead Coffee. I can set the other amounts for the other locations if I want to, but I only need to do that if I want to generate a QR code.
NOTE: The system stores the amount. If you change the amount for that location, you do not need to get a new QR code.
So here I:
Enter "10" in the row for New York
Click "Save & Continue". Note, the location selection box will now be usable and in a green border.

Next, I select "New York", and now the download and share options come to life.

You have four options, but for SCAN we focus on the downloadable QR code and the clickable link:
Download the raw QR code - perhaps to add to the bottom of the receipts printed from your POS, or on a holder on the table.
Copy the clickable link - you can use this to program an NFC tag, which you deliver with the bill if you are not able to edit your receipt template on the POS. Customers tap their phones, then are prompted to scan the receipt.
Special Note on Security
meed has a number of security measures in place to ensure people do not commit fraud, most of which we will not reveal. Some things we can tell you:
The system will match the address for the location with the address on your receipt, so if using scan, make sure the address for your location in meed matches exactly.
You cannot use the same receipt twice.
How to use in your restaurant
When you or a team member brings the bill to the customer, simply remind them to scan the QR code (either on the bill or nearby) to earn their rewards.

The customer scans the QR code. If they are not a member, they will be prompted to become one, and then a window will pop up prompting them to scan the receipt.
Rewards are confirmed between 7 and 15 seconds later.
