How to Set up Scan by meed

Self-service customer rewards powered by AI

Scan by meed is one of our most exciting feature additions. While it will work for anyone, it is especially designed for restaurants or other establishments that require a single bill at the end of service. 

Customers scan the same QR code they use to join, which can either be on the receipt or on the table. Our web app captures the receipt data and automatically rewards the customer based on a per-stamped value that you set.

How to Set Up Scan by meed

This feature is attached to our regular stamp card. For instructions on how to create a stamp card, please see this article.

In this example, we are creating an AU$ 25 cash voucher earned after receiving 10 stamps. Our example restaurant is in Australia, so set the correct amounts depending on where you are. 

So in this example:

• The voucher is called “Cash Reward”

• The amount is set to 25, and we have selected AUD

• We have added a description

• One condition, that this voucher should not be used in conjunction with any other offer

• We have uploaded an image to represent “$25”

• We have set the campaign to run until December 31, 2025

• We have activated the stamp card toggle. 

Activate Scan, our AI-powered receipt scanning feature

First, activate the toggle labeled, "Receipt capture to stamps”. The configure currency button will appear. 

Next, click Configure currency.

All the locations you have set up in your program will appear, with the currency preset for their country. In this case, all of Delicious Restaurant’s branches are in Australia. 

Now, on the card, we set the stamp value for each location at AUD$20. In other words, for every $20 spent, the system will give the consumer one stamp. The number of stamps is rounded down, so the customer will get four stamps if the bill is for $85.

Once you are satisfied, just press save. 

And to make it live. Click the big orange button, “Start Campaign” and confirm. 

And that is it. 

You are all set up. 

How to use in your restaurant

The system is activated using the same QR code you set up when you created your program. To grab the QR code, click Loyalty Programs in the main menu bar and then click the QR code button.

Then press the QR code button for the location you are setting up from the pop-up that appears:

The most effective way to do this is to add the QR code to the bottom of your receipt—many POS systems enable a personalised QR code at the bottom. Alternatively, you can simply place the QR code on the table in a stand. 

Either way, ask your servers to remind customers to scan for rewards when they bring the bill. meed will take care of the rest.
