Create a Welcome Coupon for your meed Loyalty Program

meed is not only a rewards platform to thank your regulars for their custom. It is also a compelling coupon-delivery platform that lets you set up an unlimited number of incentives to encourage your customers to return.

Today, we will create a welcome coupon. This redeemable coupon has a unique feature: it is displayed on a consumer's phone immediately after scanning your in-store QR code or clicking your social media link.

Setting up this welcome coupon is easy. Ensure you have an image that matches your reward and is ready to upload. When you upload the picture, it will be cropped to a square.

The Quick Guide (TL;DR)

• Click "coupon" in the main menu

• Select "Create Coupon"

• Choose Discount, Cash or item

• For Discount and Cash, enter the amount

• Give your coupon a name

• Add a description (what the coupon is for)

• Upload an image

• Select a start and stop date for validity

• Launch the Coupon

• If not the first coupon created, on the coupon main screen, toggle "Use as Welcome Coupon" on the panel for your new coupon

Create your Welcome Coupon

If you have not set up your loyalty program on meed yet, you can read how to do it in under 5 minutes here.

Log in to the meed Business Portal here: portal.meedloyalty.com and use the username and password you created when you created your account.

Please navigate to the Coupon section, in the left-hand menu bar (or drop-down menu if on mobile)

Click "Create Coupon" under the "Manage your coupons" heading.

You will be presented with the Create Coupon screen. This should only take a minute.

First, choose your coupon type.

The three main options are:

• Discount - a percentage amount off the bill

• Cash Voucher - a cash amount off the bill

• Item - a straight redemption.

If you choose Discount, then you need to enter the discount amount as shown below:

If you choose a cash voucher, then enter the amount in the box shown. The currency should be set to match the location(s) you set when you created the program, but if not, you can simply change it using the dropdown selector.

If you choose "item", no additional information is needed.

In all cases, make sure to give your coupon a name. If it is a welcome coupon, sometimes the most obvious path is the best: call it "Welcome Coupon!" Or, "Welcome Gift", depending on what the coupon is for.

Describe the Coupon and Upload an Image

Write a description. Say what the coupon redeems for, and for a welcome coupon, you could add a little note. For example:

Thank you for joining our loyalty program. As a special reward, redeem this coupon for 10% off your purchase on your next purchase

Next, upload a picture to go on the coupon. You can upload anysize, and the system will crop it to a square. It could be a picture of the item rewarded, for example. You can upload any picture. And you can change the picture later, if you want.

Finally, set the schedule by giving your coupon a start and stop date. These are the dates when it will be available in your customers' meed wallet. After the end date, it will disappear from their wallet. You can always restart an expired coupon campaign.

Check the preview on the right-hand side of your screen (or scroll down on mobile)

If everything is good, click the big orange button, "Launch Coupon".

Your coupon is immediately live.

Make it the Welcome Coupon

If this is the very first coupon you are creating for your program, then it will automatically become the welcome coupon. If not, then there is one extra step.

After creating your coupon, you will be returned to the Coupon main screen. You can always navigate here by clicking "coupon" in the main menu.

Click the toggle button on the panel for your new coupon, as indicated. "Use as Welcome Coupon".

From now on, whenever someone scans a QR code or taps an NFC tag to join your program, they will see this offer as an extra incentive to complete the process.
