The STEP multi-reward stamp card is an exciting feature on meed, designed to make rewarding customer loyalty more engaging and dynamic. By allowing retailers to offer rewards at the end of the journey and at key milestones along the way, this feature creates a richer and more motivating customer experience.
In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the simple steps to create and customise a STEP Card with multi-rewards using the meed platform. This will help unlock its full potential to drive customer engagement and repeat visits. Let’s get started!
Step 0 - Get Prepared:
We will create a STEP card for our demonstration program, Recaffeinated. We need to plan so we have everything ready to go.
We need to choose between a 10- and 20-stamp card. In this case, I will select the 10-stamp card.
We need to know which stamp slots will generate a reward. In this case, I have decided that, in addition to the mandatory reward at 10 stamps, I will also grant an intermediate reward at 5 stamps.
We need to decide what those rewards will be to have images ready to upload, as each reward will require an image. I have decided that the rewards will be:
5 stamps: A free pastry
10 stamps: Free Coffee (like the old stamp card)
Now we know what we are setting up, and with the images ready to upload, let’s get to work.
Step 1 - Create the Rewards for your multi-reward STEP Card
Before creating the STEP card, we must prepare all the rewards in advance.
After logging into the portal, head to the Campaign screen:

Click Reward for STEP Milestone Card under "I want to create".
Our first reward is a free pastry. So, we will choose Item and fill in the fields as follows:
Reward Name: Free Pastry
A description explaining what this reward is for
One requirement is that this reward is not to be used in conjunction with any other offer
Upload an image of a pastry
The form now looks like this:

Now click "Save STEP Card Reward" and "Yes" in the pop-up confirmation dialogue.
When saving, the view will change to the Campaign Management Screen. Select the STEP Card Rewards tab under "Manage Your Campaigns" to see the new reward stored and waiting for use.

Now, let's create the remaining reward for the STEP card.
This is the screen for the free coffee, duplicating the reward used in the single-reward STAMP card:

Having saved the second and final reward, we click the STEP Card Rewards tab to see both rewards ready and waiting to be used.

Step 2 - Set Up the STEP Card
IMPORTANT: You may only have one active loyalty card (STAMP, CHECKIN, SCAN or STEP) active at a time for your loyalty program. If you haven't set one up yet, you can skip this part.
If you do have a single-reward card, then in the Manage Your Campaigns screen, select Loyalty Cards:
Then, on the active loyalty card, click the Cancel button.

Once you have confirmed there are no active loyalty cards in the campaign screen, find the STEP Card item on the main menu and click it.
You will now be on the STEP Card Set Up Screen.

In column one, 'Details', we add a name for the card, a description, and an image.
Note the Stamp Pattern toggle in the middle column. It is already set to 10 stamps, but if you choose to have a 20-step card, then you can change that here.
In Step 0, we decided we would offer rewards at the 5th and 10th stamps. Step 10 is already active, so we need to click Step 5. Note how the rewards selector in the third column changes.

Now, we can use the drop-downs in column three to allocate each of the rewards we created earlier to the active stamps on the card.

The STEP Card is now set up and ready to use:

Now all you have to do is press "Create STEP Card" and in the dialogue box that pops up, click "yes".
Your STEP card is live and will be distributed to all your members. In fact, within seconds, they will get a notification on their phones:
You stamp cards as normal using the meed app. A tutorial on how to use the meed App for Business is listed in the related articles below.
