Convert your single reward STAMP card to a multi-reward STEP card

Updated: 5 days ago

Congratulations on setting up your meed STAMP card!

You now have a powerful and easy-to-use digital loyalty program that will benefit both you and your customers.

For even more flexibility, consider upgrading to the multi-reward STEP card, also known as the Milestone card.

WARNING: Any STAMPS on your old card will not transfer to your new STEP card.

STAMP vs. STEP Cards: What's the Difference?

STAMP Card (Single Reward)

The STAMP card is designed for a single reward. Once filled, it converts into a redeemable voucher or coupon. By default, the card then auto-renews, replacing the completed card with an empty one for your customer to start collecting stamps again.

STEP Card (Multi-Reward)

The STEP card offers greater flexibility by allowing you to create multiple rewards that customers can earn at different stages of filling up the card. For instance, on a ten-stamp card, you could offer rewards at the 3rd, 5th, 8th, and 10th stamps. They automatically renew when full.

We will guide you through the setup process and show you how to instantly launch your new STEP card to both your current and future members.

Step One - Plan Ahead

Setting up the STEP card is a little different to setting up the single reward STAMP card.

For the STAMP card, you create a reward and then turn that reward into a stamp card.

For STEP, you will need to create the rewards first and then create the STEP card and assign the rewards to the stamps on the card.

So, let’s do some planning.

First, the STEP card can have 10 or 20 stamps. Decide now which option you want. In most cases, the 10-stamp option is fine because 20 stamps can be a long journey, but for businesses where your customers come every day, 20 stamps might be appropriate.

Next, decide which stamps will generate a reward.

As an example, I will use our demo account, Coffee House.

Card Choice

  • I am going to set up a 10-stamp STEP card with three rewards at positions 3, 7 and 10.

Rewards

  • Stamp 3 - a 10% discount voucher on any pastries

  • Stamp 7 - $10 off your next purchase (of $30 or more)

  • Stamp 10 - a free set lunch

You, of course, can do any combination of rewards and stamp positions you choose. I have chosen these to show all three reward types.

Step Two - Create the Rewards.

Now we know what we are setting up, let’s get to work.

First go to the meed Portal at https://portal.meedloyalty.com

After logging in, you will land on the Overview page. If this is your first time logging in since generating your meed STAMP card using one of our onboarding wizards, then you will be asked to create a password.

On the left-hand menu (or on mobile, from the dropdown menu), click “Campaigns”. This will take you to the Manage Campaigns screen. If you used the wizard to create your stamp card, you will see the stamp card on this page.

Click “Create New Campaign”

The Your Campaign screen will come up. It looks like a lot, but it is actually very simple to fill in.

  1. In the far right column click the orange toggle button where it says “Use Voucher for Milestone Stamp Card”. It will turn from orange to green and the big button will change to “Use Voucher for Milestone Stamp Card”.

Activate Milestone Stamp Card Option

  1. Go back to the first column, and choose which of the three types of reward you want this to be. You can choose:

    1. Discount (e.g., 10% off)

    2. Cash Voucher (e.g. $10 off)

    3. Giveaway (e.g. free coffee)

Our first reward for Coffee House is a 10% discount voucher on any pastries.

Fill in the reward name and select the discount value as shown in the screenshot below.

  1. Move to the second column, Campaign Details. Give the reward a description so that your customers have all the information that they need. For example: Get 10% off any pastries with your coffee with this coupon.

  1. You need to have at least one condition set. We recommend, “Not to be used with any other offer”.

  1. Upload an image to be a campaign picture. The image will be cropped to a square as you upload it.

  1. That’s it. You have created your voucher. The only thing to do now is to save it, Look to the right and the big green button, “Use Voucher for Milestone Stamp Card”. Click it. Then click “Yes” in the pop up to confirm.

  1. You will be taken back to the Manage Your Campaigns page and you will see the reward there. If you just want to see the rewards to be used for your STEP card (which you will notice we also sometimes call the Milestone Card) then click the  “Milestone Stamp Card Rewards” tab just above.

  1. To create the remaining rewards, click “Create New Campaign” again and repeat steps 1 to 6 until you have created all the rewards you intend to use in your STEP card. In my case, the set-up screens look like this:

$10 off your next purchase (of $30 or more)

When you are done, you will see all your STEP card rewards in the Campaign Management Screen, ready for use:

Step Three - Disable Your Current STAMP Card

This is very important. You can only have one active stamp card in your meed loyalty program at any one time to avoid confusion for customers. The meed Portal will not allow you to create a STEP card until you have disabled your STAMP card.

Navigate to the Campaigns screen, if you are not there already, so that you can see your campaigns. Select either the Stamp Card Rewards or All Rewards tabs.

On Your STAMP card (which is marked with a stamp icon) click “Cancel”.

A pop up warning will appear. Click “Yes”.

The screen will reload, and your STAMP card will now have an “Activate” button.

Step Four - Create Your STEP Card

Navigate to “Milestone Stamp Card” in the left hand menu (or the drop down menu on mobile). You will see this screen.

  1. Look at the first column. Give your stamp card a name. I am going to call mine, “Coffee House Rewards”

  1. Give it a description. This is extra information about the program. No need to mention all the rewards, they will be added by the system when consumers see the card in their phones. Ideally state what earns a stamp, for example, for each espresso drink, or every $20 spent. You could mention any restrictions on earning stamps, if there are any.

  1. Upload an image to go with the stamp card. Do not use the logo you uploaded when you created your program as this is added to the card by meed.

Here is mine filled out:

  1. Turning to the card itself in the middle column, click on each stamp to generate a reward. In addition to the last position, 10, which must always create a reward, I planned on rewards at Steps 3 and 7. You will notice that the third column, Milestone Rewards, adjusts as you select (or deselect) stamp positions. If you decided you wanted a 20-stamp card, then click the toggle button above the stamp positions.

  1. In the rewards column on the right, select the reward for each position from the drop down. Mine looks like this:

  1. Check everything looks correct. If it does, click “Create Stamp Card”. You will get a confirmation pop-up. Click “Yes”.

Your card is now live! All current members will see the new STEP card in their Apple and Google passes and all new members will immediately see it when they join.
